Eccles Health Campus – West Valley

Rooted in Community. Growing Opportunity.

The Eccles Hospital & Health Campus is more than a hospital—it’s a promise to the community. Born from deep collaboration with West Valley residents and leaders, this campus is designed to reflect the expertise of the University and the strength and resilience of one of Utah’s most vibrant cities.

We’re expanding care close to home, opening doors to health care careers, and investing in the future of the community.

We envision a healthy West Valley where residents and the University of Utah learn, grow, and thrive together.

Health Care: U of U Health Will Have a Home in West Valley

Opening in 2028, the Eccles Hospital & Health Campus in West Valley will bring U of U Health’s world-class care to West Valley and surrounding communities. The state-of-the-art, 800,000 square foot facilities will include:

  • University of Utah’s largest multi-specialty outpatient center with 200+ exam rooms

  • Emergency Department and urgent care services

  • Surgical and procedural suites and imaging services

  • In-patient hospital (2029)

We're hiring local staff, offering multilingual support, and incorporating the community’s input to create a welcoming space for all.

"Personally, this is going to mean that my friends and family have access to U of U Health care in their backyard. We no longer have to drive across the city and access that care, it will be a monumental change."

-Shawna Mills, lifelong West Valley resident and Health Campus neighbor

EDUCATION + CAREERS: YOUR PATH STARTS HERE

The new campus will create 2,000 new jobs in health and supporting services. We believe that the future of health care is already here—in the students, families, and workers of West Valley. That’s why the campus will also be a hub for learning, training, and workforce development, with:

  • Career pathway programs for high school and college students
  • Connection to certificate and degree programs in medicine, nursing, social work, and allied health fields
  • Hands-on training in clinical settings
  • Support services, mentorship, scholarships

Whether you're just starting your journey or switching careers, there’s programs to help get you there.
